Community Recycling Centre

A pallet of old car batteries.

Residents can drop off the following household problem waste items FREE of charge for quantities of up to 20kg or 20 litres (unless otherwise specified):

  • Paint (oil and water based)
  • Gas bottles and fire extinguishers
  • Household and car batteries
  • Motor oils and other oils
  • Fluoro and LED globes and tubes – less than 15
  • Printer cartridges
  • Smoke detectors
  • X-rays
  • Electronic waste – televisions, computers, tablets, mobile phones and accessories

There are also cabinets called Community Recycling Stations where you can drop off a variety of smaller household problem waste:

  • Household batteries
  • Printer cartridges
  • X-rays
  • E-waste - mobile phones & accessories

These drop-off points are located at Council's Corporate Centre on Oliver Ave, Goonellabah, Lismore Pop-up Library on Magellan St, Lismore and Nimbin Transfer Station on Blade Rd, Nimbin.
