Climate Change

Climate change can be caused by natural processes, but the largest driver of present day climate change is emissions of greenhouse gases. The changes we are currently facing include increased temperatures, changing rainfall patterns and extreme events.

We need to prepare for these changes (climate adaptation) and do our bit to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which will limit future climate change (mitigation). Lismore City Council's actions align with the work of the NSW Government and the Australian Government.
