Lismore CBD Occupancy Audit June 2024 

In central Lismore CBD, there were promising signs of renewal with 76.8% occupation rate across audited business premises, as of June 2024.

In this audit, occupation rates improved across all audited sections of CBD streets. Key insights include:

  • 76.8% overall occupation rate, across all audited CBD properties in June 2024, which has increased from the 73.4% occupation rate recorded in December 2023.
  • CBD shopfront occupation rate of 72.4% (up from 68.8% in December 2023).
  • CBD upstairs premise occupation rate of 85.4% (up from 81.7% in December 2023).

The increasing CBD occupancy rate reflects the vibrancy and significant investment of our business community, along with events and creative industries, sports and community activities, and major infrastructure projects underway. During this audit, the team noted considerable shopfront renovations that also point to investment and new business opportunities increasing over the coming months.

Council’s Destination and Economy team conducted the Audit in the week ending 21 June 2024, when the city was busy between signature local events – LisAmore! and the 30th year of the Lismore Lantern Parade. Lismore CBD’s street-by-street occupation rates at June 2024 were:

  • Keen Street – 82.4% (up from 81.1% recorded in December 2023)
  • Magellan Street – 81.7% (up from 76.3% recorded in December 2023)
  • Conway Street – 77.3% (up from 72.1% recorded in December 2023)
  • Carrington Street – 77.3% (up from 73.1% recorded in December 2023)
  • Molesworth Street – 77.0% (up from 74.0% recorded in December 2023)
  • Woodlark Street – 65.1% (up from 60.7% recorded in December 2023).
