Find a dog-friendly area

There are three designated off-leash areas for dogs in the Lismore Local Government Area: Elizabeth Park, a designated fenced dog area near the Wilsons River, and Hepburn Park in Goonellabah. Dogs are also welcome if on-leash in Riverside Park.

Dogs should be under control while using these areas.

Please consider other people using the area by ensuring your dog is not a nuisance or an annoyance to other users and their pets. And always remember to scoop their poop before you go!

Elizabeth Gardens is one of our off-leash dog walking areas in the Lismore LGA.

Lismore River Dog Park

A fenced, off-leash dog walking area down by the Wilsons River.

Riverside Park

Take a stroll along the riverbank into the City Centre and read about Lismore’s rich river history at the interpretive story sites along the way. This wonderful park connects residents and visitors to the Wilsons River, which runs through the heart of Lismore.
