Lost or found animals
If you have lost a cat or dog, contact the Customer Contact Centre at (02) 6625 0500 with the animal's microchip number and a description of the pet.
Also check with local veterinary clinics, as found or injured animals are often taken there, and consider using local radio stations' "lost and found" announcements.
If you have found an animal, do not approach it if it is aggressive, and try to contain it if it is not wearing any identification.
If the animal is wearing a collar with an identification tag, use the information on the tag to try to locate the owner.
Phone us on (02) 6625 0500 and we’ll arrange for one of our rangers to come and collect a found animal.
They will do everything they can to make sure the animal is returned to its owner.
Hours for collection of stray animals are Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 3pm.
