Roads and bridges

Find the latest updates on repair works for roads and bridges affected by the February 2022 natural disaster.

Since the February 2022 natural disaster, extended wet weather has severely impacted our road network, resulting in 90% of our 1200km roads and many bridges, culverts and footpaths needing an estimated $200 million for repairs.

Ongoing assessments and temporary measures such as side-track access, pothole repair and gravel roads will precede permanent construction, prioritising public safety, preventing further damage and maintaining community access. We will continue to provide detailed updates on specific flood-related damage and how to report damaged roads to the Council as repairs progress.
