Nimbin Water Supply

A suite of restoration projects are underway to safeguard Nimbin’s drinking water supply.  Works to reinstate the Nimbin Water Main were completed in 2024 and plans to remediate the flood-damaged Nimbin Weir are in progress. 

A new, flood-resilient Water Treatment Plant will also be built, providing high quality drinking water that meets NSW Health guidelines with capacity to service the growing population. 

Key project goals:

  • Ensure safe and reliable drinking water for Nimbin residents 
  • Protect critical infrastructure  
  • Comply with environmental and water quality regulations
