Project Overview
Specialist firms were invited to express interest in both the design and construction phases. The proponent for the design phase has now been appointed.
Feeding into this work, aerial surveys were recently completed, gathering data on 84 damages along 25 roads to inform detailed restoration designs. More than 160kms was surveyed in just four days, with LiDAR technology mounted to a helicopter.

Geotechnical investigations focused on the structure of those roads is now underway.

Following the design phase, experts in sealed road surface restoration will be invited to submit proposals for the construction portion. Once appointed, they will develop a detailed delivery schedule, specifying locations and timelines for project implementation.
