The Nimbin Transfer Station remains closed after a recent fire. Specialist crews are completing clean-up and restoration, with Council aiming to reopen next week pending safety checks. Updates will be provided, and we thank the community for its patience.

Labour Day public holiday closures – Monday 6 October

Lismore City Council’s offices and most facilities will close for the Labour Day public holiday. Corporate Centre, libraries, GSAC and the Recycling Centre will be closed, while Memorial Baths open 9am–5pm. Waste collection runs as normal. For emergencies, call 6625 0500.

The Flood Restoration Portfolio Waste program is responsible for several essential capital projects aimed at rebuilding damaged infrastructure at the Lismore Recycling & Recovery Centre on Wyrallah Road, East Lismore.

These projects will ensure the facility meets current regulatory guidelines, while also delivering improved operational and community resource recovery.

This program of works is funded by the Commonwealth and NSW Government under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, alongside Capital investment from Lismore City Council to further support the delivery of this works package.
