The Lismore Business Activation Plan is an action focused framework developed with local stakeholders to revitalise Lismore's business centres including the Lismore Central Business District (CBD), South Lismore, North Lismore, East Lismore and Goonellabah.  Developed in partnership with local businesses and stakeholders, the Plan focuses on practical actions that drive foot traffic, improve business visibility, and foster collaboration across sectors. It provides a roadmap for delivering promotions, events, education and infrastructure improvements that make doing business in Lismore easier, more connected and more rewarding.

Introducing Business Lismore

As part of the ongoing implementation of the Lismore Business Activation Plan, Council endorsed a new partnership with Business Lismore at its meeting on 13 May 2025.  Through this resolution, Council has committed $50,000 (excluding GST) per annum from the Lismore Special Business Rate to Business Lismore to support the delivery of business advocacy, education and support to businesses within the Special Business Rate area.  A Service Level Agreement has been entered into with Business Lismore covering key actions from the Lismore Business Activation Plan 2025–2027, with annual reviews to monitor performance against clearly defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

This partnership builds on a shared vision to revitalise our commercial areas, attract new opportunities, and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit that defines our city.
