Naima Brown was born and raised in Northern California but now resides in NSW's Northern Rivers. She holds degrees in Middle Eastern Studies, Anthropology and Religious Studies. A 15+ year career in news, current affairs and documentary as a producer and filmmaker saw her live and work in Yemen and Afghanistan. Naima is the co-author of 2023’s non-fiction How to Age Against the Machine (Hardie Grant) with Melissa Doyle. Her first novel, The Shot, also published in 2023, was described as ‘a disturbing and absorbing story you won’t forget in a hurry’.
