Lismore Boulevard – Shared User Path Project

The Lismore Boulevard – Shared User Path will create a safer, more connected pedestrian and cycling corridor through Lismore Park, linking Lismore Shopping Square, the CBD, the Skatepark, Lismore Regional Art Gallery, Lismore Base Hospital precinct and nearby sporting facilities.

The four-metre-wide landscaped shared path will improve accessibility and encourage walking, cycling and recreation. Features include shade trees, seating, bike racks, lighting and landscaped park surrounds, creating an attractive and inclusive public space for people of all ages and abilities.

The project will also strengthen connections to public transport, including bus stops, the school bus interchange and taxi facilities, making it easier for residents and visitors to travel around the city using active transport.

Lismore Boulevard is funded through the NSW Government's Get NSW Active 2025–2026 program, administered by Transport for NSW, with $2,383,030 in funding and a $100,000 contribution from Lismore City Council. Construction is scheduled to commence in mid-2027 and be completed by March 2028, weather permitting.

July 2026 update

Community consultation on the Lismore Boulevard – Shared User Path was held from 13 July to 27 July 2026 and has now closed.

Feedback received during the consultation period is being reviewed and will help inform the final design of the project.

The design now moves toward the 80% milestone which will include the confirmation of materials, finishes, and other structural elements for the project, including the development of the pedestrian bridge design.
