A boil water alert is in place for the village of Nimbin due to water treatment issues making tap water unsafe to drink. All water used for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, making ice, washing uncooked food, and pet drinking water must be brought to a rolling boil, cooled, and stored safely, or replaced with bottled water. The Lismore Recycling & Recovery Centre will be affected by road works and temporary changes to operating hours from Monday, 9 February through to late March 2026, weather permitting. During this time, the centre will close daily at 1pm. Traffic changes will also be in place to allow for repairs to the sealed entrance road between the front gate and the weighbridge.
Located on the northern side of Nimbin, the Nimbin Cemetery offers fantastic views of the surrounding country side and the hills around Nimbin. Nimbin Cemetery allows for traditional memorial burial plots and has a garden for ashes interment.
