Wade Park – Complete

Construction of a new flood-resilient amenities block at East Lismore's Wade Park is now complete.

Jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Governments under the Public Amenities Resilience Upgrades program, the new facility is bookended by four sheltered picnic tables and features 10 unisex cubicles including ambulant, wheelchair accessible and a parent's room.

Designed to be hosed out in the event of future flooding, the Modus modular building replaces the previous 1980s-style brick building (which has since been demolished) and is now better located for playground access.

Wade Park amenities block is one of 23 facilities being upgraded and replaced across the Lismore local government area, as part of Lismore City Council's ongoing efforts to improve comfort and amenity for locals and visitors.
