SafeWork NSW testing has found no respirable asbestos fibres in the coloured sand products named in the ACCC’s voluntary recall. As results were below respirable levels, the products can now be double-bagged and disposed of in red-lid bins. The recall covered Kadink Sand, Rainbow Sand and Creatistics Coloured Sand sold through major retailers.
Lismore City Council has made some changes to how building certification is delivered, with these services now provided by accredited private certifiers. Council will continue to handle Building Information Certificates and external plumbing inspections. Read more on these changes here.

Lismore Lake now has an accessible Modus amenity block. The modular building is designed with flood resilience in mind and shares a similar design to other recently-completed amenities across Lismore.
