Rural Women’s Gathering

Lismore will host the 32nd Rural Women’s Gathering on Saturday 25 October. Comprising of a Friday evening welcome event, Saturday key note speakers and workshops, and gala dinner on Saturday evening.  

Local women are being encouraged to register and be part of this unique event. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills, share information and connect with like-minded women from all over NSW.

Northern Rivers DAP Community Reference Group

Have Your Say: Help Shape the Northern Rivers Disaster Adaptation Plan

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is establishing a Community Reference Group to guide the development of a Disaster Adaptation Plan (DAP) for the Northern Rivers.

The DAP will identify the actions our region needs to take to reduce disaster risk where possible, and adapt where we cannot. It will also consider the increasing impacts of climate change, which may make disasters more frequent and more intense.

The Community Reference Group will consist of up to 40 members, representing the diversity of our region. Members will provide valuable insights on local values and priorities to support:

  • Identifying current and future risks from natural hazards such as floods, bushfires, cyclones, and coastal erosion
  • Exploring ways to reduce and adapt to these risks

Expressions of Interest are now open until Friday 19 September 2025.

This is an important opportunity to influence how our region adapts to a changing climate and prepare for the challenges we will face in the future. Meetings will be held regularly (mostly online) during the development of the plan.
