Introduction

Lightbox Lane is a biannual public art initiative that transforms a public laneway space in Lismore's CBD into a vibrant, evolving gallery, showcasing the creativity and cultural identity of Lismore. This program provides local artists, art students, and emerging creatives with a platform to exhibit their work in a professional public setting, celebrating the diverse voices and stories of our community.  The initiative aligns with the Safer Cities Her Way program, which sparked the creation of public exhibition space, supporting public art that fosters inclusivity, safety, and cultural expression.  Each exhibition features four selected artists, each showcasing their unique perspective on each exhibition rounds focused theme.

Key features:

  • Rotating exhibitions twice a year (July and December)
  • Focused themes inspired by Lismore’s people, environment, and culture
  • Open to local artists, art students, and emerging creatives located within the Lismore Local Government Area
