Fibre Connect Pump Stations Project – In Progress
Lismore City Council is improving the resilience of its flood management infrastructure with the rollout of a new 10-kilometre fibre optic connection linking the water pump stations to operations.

Connecting all four pump stations to a central control system, with provision to connect future flood assets, the link will enable remote activation, monitoring, and surveillance, reducing our reliance on manual operations.
Council anticipates minimal disturbance to businesses and the wider community throughout this project.
This project is made possible under Flood Risk Management Infrastructure funding through the Northern Rivers Recovery and Resilience Program (NRRRP). Lismore City Council has contributed funds to the project to extend the fibre network between critical wastewater treatment infrastructure.

Scope
- Construction works will include the excavation of communications pits, in addition to horizontal direction drilling (HDD) to install communications conduit.
- Hours of work will be 7am-5:30pm Monday to Friday, and 8am-4pm Saturday to Sunday (if required).
- The project may involve digging and reinstatement of grassed areas, footpaths and road reserves.
Stage 1
A total of 33 pits will be created during Stage 1 of this project. Works connecting the existing fibre optic terminal at East Lismore Sewage Treatment Plant to Gasworks Creek Pump Station will take place along:
- Wyrallah Road, Monaltrie
- Monaltrie Road, Monaltrie
- Gundurimba Road, Monaltrie
- Keen Street, East Lismore
- Shannon Street, East Lismore
Stage 1.1

Stage 1.2

Stage 2
A total of six pits will be created during Stage 2 of this project, to create a new fibre optic link from Gasworks Creek Pump Station in East Lismore to Heritage Park, Lismore. This will take place along:
- Shannon Street, East Lismore
- Barrie Street, East Lismore
- Victoria Street, East Lismore

Stage 3
A total of three pits will be created during Stage 3 of this project, to establish a new fibre optic link at Browns Creek Pump Station. These works will take place on:
- Molesworth Street, Lismore
Stage 4
One pit will be created during Stage 4 of this project, to establish a new fibre optic link at Lower Hollingworth Creek Pump Station. Works will take place at:
- John Street, East Lismore
- Riverview Park, South Lismore
Stage 5
A total of 17 pits will be created during Stage 5 of this project, to connect a new fibre optic link at Lower Hollingworth Creek Pump Station to South Lismore Treatment Plant. These works will take place at:
- Riverview Park, South Lismore
- Union Street, South Lismore
- Three Chain Road, South Lismore
