RiverFest 2025: Channon Community Planting Day
Next date: Sunday, 19 October 2025 | 09:00 AM
to 12:30 PM
Community Planting Day to be held at The Channon Tavern Riverbank as part of Riverfest 2025.
As part of the festival, Richmond Landcare Inc and Lismore City Council are holding a Community Tree Planting Day on the banks for Terania Creek, adjacent to the Channon Tavern.
Everyone is invited to come along and take part in planting two small river flats. With over 1100 trees and sedges to plant, many hands will make light work, so please come along and join in the fun! We’ll also learn about deep-stem planting techniques and some of the “flood champion” species being planted. After the planting, we’ll enjoy a catered lunch and some music at The Channon Tavern.
These plantings have been made possible through The Northern Rivers Watershed Initiative, which is funded through a $5 million grant from the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
Registration essential.
