Eat the Street tour the ultimate road trip for foodies

Tuesday, 20 February

Organisers of Eat the Street 2018 are offering foodies a different kind of culinary journey this year with the addition of a roving Farm Gate Tour.

The annual street food festival is being held on Saturday, 10 March, and this year organisers are adding to the festival with new events and highlights, including the Eat the Street Farm Gate Tour.

This day-long food safari will be held on Friday, 9 March, culminating in a long lunch at the Eltham Valley Pantry.

Tour guide Andrew Walker, Lismore City Council’s Tourism Services Coordinator, said the tour will take participants on a winding journey through the hills around Lismore, visiting farms and talking to farmers.

“We will experience some of the region’s freshest produce, grown on local farms by people who are passionate about the local food industry and farming practices.

"There will of course be lots of fun, laughter and sampling some of the finest gourmet food the region has to offer.

“We will end the tour at the gorgeous Eltham Valley Pantry where we will have a long, slow lunch savouring flavoursome courses that utilise fresh local produce from the farms we visit. If you are a lover of fine food and supporting local farmers and business people, the Farm Gate Tour ticks all the boxes.”

The Eat the Street Farm Gate Tour runs from 9am to 4pm and tickets are available at

Eat the Street is on Saturday, 10 March in Magellan Street and surrounding areas in the Lismore CBD. The day includes hundreds of food and beverage stalls, a cooking stage with guest chefs, entertainment stage, kids’ cooking workshops and more.
