GSAC makes healthy showing at Lismore Business Awards

Tuesday, 18 July 2017

The Goonellabah Sports & Aquatic Centre (GSAC) was named a winner at the annual Lismore Property Managers Business Awards on Saturday night.

GSAC won the 2017 Aged Care and Wellbeing Business of the Year for its commitment to members as well as providing a high-quality multipurpose facility for the whole community.

The GSAC facility encompasses a 24-hour gym, swimming pools and waterslide, sports stadium and café as well as a multitude of sport, swimming and fitness programs for all ages.

“We were so surprised to win. It was a real thrill for the whole team,” Council’s Manager of Major Recreation and Cultural Facilities Tony Duffy said.

“I think the quality of our customer service, the quality of the facility, and the quality of the programs we offer must have shone through in our application.

“We really pride ourselves on caring for our members and helping local people to feel good and achieve their health and fitness goals. We are community based and we believe in personal service because that helps translate into success for the individual. Building good relationships and putting the wellbeing of our members above all else is an approach that definitely sets us apart from other fitness providers.”

Tony said the centre had recently been rebranded with a new reception and café area, new uniforms and a new sense of team pride.

“Everyone was involved in this rebranding, from the managers to the lifeguards and right down to cleaner. Absolutely everyone had input,” Tony said.

“The new look of the centre as well as the really collaborative approach to improving the facility has helped reinvigorate staff and reignite their passion to run the best aquatic and fitness centre in the region.”

People can drop into the Goonellabah Sports & Aquatic Centre at 50 Oliver Avenue, Goonellabah, visit the website at www.gsac.net.au or phone the friendly staff on 6625 5370.
