Aboriginal Advisory Group Expression of Interest
INFORMATION FOR THE APPLICANTS
Lismore City Council is calling for Expressions of Interest from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to be members of Council’s Aboriginal Advisory Group.
The Aboriginal Advisory Group is a key initiative of Council’s Reconciliation Action Plan. It is an important way for Council to engage and consult with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities about local government matters that affect them.
Applicants are asked to refer to the draft Terms of Reference for more information before submitting an Expression of Interest form. Both can be found by clicking this link here.
The draft Terms of Reference is only a guide to the Expression of Interest process. Once the Aboriginal Advisory Group is formed, there will be an opportunity for the group to finalise the Terms of Reference.
Aboriginal Advisory Group members will be selected by Council to achieve a broad representation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and groups living in the Lismore Local Government Area. This will ensure gender, age and location diversity within the group.
Once the Aboriginal Advisory Group is formed, there will be opportunities for Council to seek additional members on advice from the group to ensure the Aboriginal Advisory Group achieves a comprehensive representation.
Expression of Interest applications will be received up until 5pm on Friday, 14 February 2020.
