Councillor Briefing
Tuesday, 16 February
Public Forum:
- Bexhill Quarry Parkland Project - Des Harris, Michelle Kelly, Nick Alderson
Agenda:
- Rural Tourism Planning Proposal - Andy Parks
- Disability Inclusion Action Plan - Casie Hughes/Flora Zigterman
- Disaster Recovery Project - Paula Newman
- Roads - Darren Patch
Councillor Briefings are held most Tuesday evenings so staff can provide background on issues or projects and Councillors have a chance to brainstorm and discuss.
Briefings are detailed and ensure Councillors are presented with all options and consequences relating to Council reports before they go before a formal Council meeting.
This is not a voting meeting, but a chance for Councillors to ask questions and learn about matters going before Council and the progress of ongoing projects.
Councillor Briefings are open to the public except when there is discussion regarding personal matters or commercial in confidence.
A public forum session is held at the beginning of each Councillor briefing. These sessions run for a total of 15 minutes and enable members of the public to address Council on issues of importance to them.
The 15 minutes set aside for the public forum session works on a first-in, best-dressed basis. To avoid disappointment we ask that anyone wishing to address Council during this time either contact us or complete and return the form on our Meetings & Briefings page by 4pm the day of the briefing to secure a spot.
