Outside The Box: The Hows and Whys of Public Art

Join us for a two hour panel discussion with Zoe Robinson Senior Curator for Creative Road and Ineke Dane Curator from Lismore Regional Gallery, informing working artists of the ins and outs of public art through the lenses of:

  • What constitutes public art?
  • Types of public art - Permanent, ephemeral, scale
  • Why enter the realm of public art and what are the considerations i.e. constitution of a public artist, benefits and rewards of being a public artist?
  • What is the process to crossover from indoor to outdoors?
  • Governance perspective
  • Materiality
  • Public expectation
  • Commissioning processes etc

This event will be facilitated by an experienced on-stage presenter, supporting panellists to present their knowledge through a conversational Q&A style.

Time: 10am to 12pm. Aim is for one hour panel style conversation, half an hour Q&A with attendees, half an hour of connection, networking and nibbles.
