Lismore is located in the Far North Coast of the State of New South Wales at latitude 28.81 degrees south of the equator and longitude 153.274 degrees. The State capital Sydney is some 860 kilometres south by road. Brisbane City is within 2.5 hours drive to the north. The Lismore Local Government area extends from North Woodburn in the south to Nimbin in the north and from Clunes in the east to just west of Goolmangar, covering a total area of some 1290 sq. kilometres. Lismore CBD is located 30 minutes drive from the coast and within 45 minutes of Byron Bay.
