Council supports National Tree Day events each July in Lismore
Council partners with the Wilsons River Landcare Group and other supporters each year for Planet Ark's National Tree Day in July.
Landcare hosts a site on the Wilsons River, in Pritchard Park or at Colemans Point, to regenerate the subtropical lowland rainforest. The aim is to create a continuous rainforest corridor linking remnant vegetation at Currie Park. Council provides some of the trees and mulch for this event, and is happy to help other groups and schools host their own event.
Every year thousands of Australians roll up their sleeves on National Tree Day to help plant over one million native trees, shrubs and grasses at more than 4000 sites.
